Not a lot of deer hunters in Johnson county. Whereabouts are you?

I think pre-rut is where we are now. I'm not far from you. Last 2 weeks theres been lots of chasing going on. Should get better in the next week or so. I've noticed a direct correlation to the weather. Warm and windy is no bueno. The cooler mornings is when I've seen the most activity. Johnson county has some good deer they just seem to be spotty unless you're close to the Brazos. Good luck. Kill a bigun.

I see you're out of Grandview. I used to live in Judge Balls home on 500 acres right on chambers creek. Deer were scarce, but hogs and ducks were plentiful. This was around 2000-2001. Deer population has probably increased since then.

Hunted hard Sunday and Monday. Saw a fork horn and few hogs. Nothing else. Not even a doe. Seems strange. found good sign early but no activity. Hopefully this colder weather gets them moving.

Rain predicted for this sunday then the weather will cool down. It'll be better hunting with the weather changing. Keep us updated on your hunts.
