I bought a sight mark photon RTS from a guy he bought it new & said he never used it scope looked brand new took it out the first time got everything dialed in pretty close went out the second time to fine-tune it it would not turn on came home change batteries did everything I could think of still won’t turn on called SightMark they will not do anything without the originalReceipt they will not even let me send it in and pay for having it fixed they said they do not work on them they just replace them but without the receipt they will not do anything so it looks like I have a $400 trotline weight
Does anybody have any experience with these things

Pretty much the same thing happened to me. I lucked out and was able to get the original receipt from the guy I bought it from.

I forgot to add I never gave them my name just sent a copy of the receipt. I will not own another, there are better scopes by better companies.

Pull the springs out on the battery cassette and try again

They sometimes “set” and take a memory too compressed and despite fresh batteries the unit won’t power up.

Just firmly pull the spring to make for greater tension

Hope that helps

I will try the Spring deal
I can’t remember who I bought it from if it was on here or Texas bowhunter and I have deleted all the past messages so I’m having a hard time finding who I got it from

Excellent advice. Also, look in the bag the scope came in and there is a spare AA battery holder. Swap it with the current battery holder and try that. If that still doesn't work, plug in a USB external battery pack to it and see if it will power on. If you're still getting nothing.....it's dead.

I understand the frustration but the Photon RT has been out of production for 1.5+ years now and if you had one under warranty Sightmark would replace it with the new current production Wraith HD.

Again, I know it's frustrating but it's hard to blame Sightmark since I don't know of any electronic company (and that's what this is, an electronic item) that would replace a defective $550 item that has been out of production for 1.5+ with a brand model, for a second hand owner with no receipt. I've seen Sightmark go way above and beyond to help people before but there eventually comes a limit to what they can reasonably do. I know that might sound harsh but when you think about it from a business standpoint, it's really only logical.

I would definitely try all those battery options I mentioned above. I've seen very very few Photon RT's that just "died". I'm really think it's a power issue.

Good luck!

Jason

How long ago did you purchase it?
