What caused this tear? Broadhead, another boar, something else? There are two more smaller tears hidden by hair. I hit him square in the shoulder at about 10yds with a .308. I suppose there might have been a small branch between us that caused the bullet to shrapnel, but he dropped after a couple of steps.

looks like another pig. I got to watch two fight a couple weekends ago and one cut up the other similar on the front shoulder and bit his ear off before I shot him.

Yeah; my guess is he got into a hog fight with the wrong boar! You put an end to his fighting days, for sure!

Then again, he might have been saying "You should see the other hog…" up until you shot him.

But I agree it was quite likely caused in a fight with another boar.

Can't really see the gash that well, but quite likely from another boar. I have shot several with similar cuts along their sides, a few high on the back.

I watched a couple go at it once and it was a little unnerving. Man that was violent.

They make ammo specifically for hunting for a reason! nidea

I can hear them fighting quite often in the bottoms. It usually ends with a lot of squealing.

One shot is all it should take.
