I only drink White tequila Espolon is the best there is for the price. For everyday use Jimador Blanco is really good too.

Patron, Don Julio, tres generones all good. Prefer anejo or aged tequila. Dark color and buttery smooth.

Less expensive and palatable.....1800, Orendains.

Cazadores is one of my favorites for a decent price. I can only speak for the blanco, but I'm sure the reposado is fine too.

Even cheaper and still pretty good is Cimmaron.

Espolon is pretty good and pretty popular, but I like Cazadores better.

Patron is way too expensive for what it is IMO.

For sipping I like Del Maguey Vida (Mezcal, not tequila). It's very smoky, its not for everybody.

The biggest thing I look for is that the bottle says 100% agave. No fillers, no colors, etc.

^^^^^Maybe the ones you drink say 100% agave. A number of tequilas have additives. Sugar, coloring and fake barrel flavoring to mention a few.

Jose Cuervo Especial is one of the most popular ones. I believe they call it a "mixto". I forget the specifics but theyre able to get away with using cheap or filler ingredients.

I don't knock it, because everyone has their own tastes, and I spent many a good night splashing that stuff into some sprite around a campfire in the woods, but nowadays when I drink, I like to drink what I really like.

I also like to be able to get up to go hunting the next morning without puking my guts out. smile ani

I just gave up on this thread after taking a peek at the Deer Hunters Forum. It seems as if they also occasionally take a sip. Check it out. Start with the THFer who went to his blind in his long johns.

Hornitos Black Barrel is not bad.
An Anejo that has been aged in whiskey barrels.
