Love my Vizsla Ace. He is such a versatile dog even though birds are by far his passion. First time trailing a deer. Natural instinct and he has a great nose.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

Great Post. I have thought about giving Rye a try at tracking a blood trail, but we spend so much time breaking them of chasing deer, cattle, rabbit, and pigs, I'm kinda afraid it might send the wrong message.
We all need to practice Whoa more.

I've used bird dogs to find dropped items--wallets, handheld controllers, phones--dog won't pick it up but they will usually stop and look at it whenthey getk human scent on it.

Thanks Nak and that is a great thing about our property, we have no cattle for them to chase and he stays at the house kenneled when we hunt. Definitely would worry about that if we had cattle on the place
