I could be the laziest hunter on the forum. It takes me about 60 seconds, if I walk slow smile

I can see my feeder from the kitchen window...

I’ve raised the window and pulled the trigger before

My main set up is in Oklahoma and it don’t start for a few more weeks

You guys are like one of the guys I work with, really good friend of mine. Lives outside of Beeville. I asked if he was going hunting. He said If I see anything by the feeder I’ll step out on the back deck.

Thanks, Billy

Depends on where I am going. I only hunt public or by invitation.

My front porch IS a blind. Shot an "unbranched antler" buck a couple of weeks ago (MLD) in gym shorts, flip-flops, with a martini and cigar. I have no shame. (The others are 100-120 yards, with one 80 yards for kiddos.)

Yeah, my Daughter shot this buck from her bedroom window when she was 14 yrs old. Still in her PJ's. Buck was in the pasture behind our house about 150 yds. out.

Same for me. I have one stand that I could walk to in a couple minutes, the furthest is less than 2 miles from the house and I can be on that one (house to blind) in 15 minutes. It is a real blessing to be able to hunt your own property. Many folks have to get up extra early and travel many miles to be able to hunt, or make trips miles away and camp out or lodge.

Then again...it might be nice to get away from the Wife and hang out in Deer Camp sometimes. So maybe I don't have it so good? Well at least have a choice.....I'll put it that way.

Front porch, Kitchen window, pipeline row 250 yd walk. I did put up a stand in tree for archery this year about 30 yds closer to the feeder than the house.

If you find yourself feeling useless, remember it took 20 years, trillions of dollars, and four presidents to replace the Taliban with the Taliban.

Sometimes the Universe puts you in the same situation again to see if you’re still a dumbass.

Hahaha. I got the same setup and a green hog light on the feeder to let me know when to go to the blind. I set it up for my old dad so we can sit and have coffee and give the stand time enough to warm up.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

The Cross Timbers are in their fall glory. Awesome colors right now. My favorite blind is a short walk behind the house. The view is very similar to yours, leswad.

Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it.

My Wife and I had been dating a little over a year when one of her Law Partners invited me to hunt with him the Sunday after Thanksgiving (so he had an excuse to get away from his in-laws).
If you knew where to look you could see the blind from the driveway/carport. It took longer to load up the gator and drive down there than it would have taken to walk to it.
Shot the biggest doe I've ever gotten while we could hear the TV on the patio at the house. .

Our camp is centrally located and the blinds are all about a 1/4 to 1/2 mile walk, closer as the crow flies.

This view is 75 yards from the back door.

Or the new deck has an even better view.

Have a blind that is about 300 yards from camp.....probably the prettiest view on the ranch. That one is designated for the wife

it has everything to do with the distance from camp, nothing to do with the view!
