Good question. Usually if I post an age/score it will be from game cams and the dates are almost always correct. However, there will often be guys that take pics with hand held cams and usually I cant go back and figure out the dates. Of course you can tell on hard horned or not. This is NWTx and the ruts about mid to late Nov. This guy was probably early Oct. This year our deer are generally pretty fat.

Dang STx, is that your final answer? Im not saying hes not 3 or that hes real old but most on our lease are between 4 and 5. We have other pics and maybe those look older. What are you seeing, or not seeing? On a buck like this its not a huge deal either way but im always trying to learn.

3 or 4 and somewhere around 115 due to weak brows.
I understand what you are saying about 110" bucks and 130" bucks but what age class do these 'cutoff's apply at? Hell, I love seeing mid 120" 2 year olds but not so much if they are 4 or 5 years old.
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

ILUV, I always appreciate your comments, especially on age score. I dont want to go into detail to answer your question cause I dont want the thread to turn into a Harvest Guidelines/Culling debate. Ill pm you a longer answer but for now a shorter version. We do NOT try to INTINSIVELY manage the place. We recognize the members we have and what they want and what our resources and limitations are. We do a great job of letting ALMOST ALL bucks grow up. We may leave "too many" bucks on the range but we see a value in it cause we are not JUST about Trophies. We recognize and appreciate the value in a large number of low to medium scoring bucks cause we put kids on the low scoring bucks and even our regular guys arent so Trophy minded that they dont enjoy hunting a mature buck in the 120s. Everybody WANTS a Trophy but we are a 2 buck county so the midrange bucks gives them some trigger time while waiting on a big Trophy. Now for the real short answer to your question; all bucks have to be 5 or older unless they score less than 110 and then they have to be 4 or older.

Fantastic man Sounds like you guys have a great group of guys that don't take it overboard as some do!!! Seems as though leases like yours enjoy much, much more tranquility than others. lmao
