if a stud is not where you want to hang a shoulder mount. What's the best way to hang it on just drywall?

Depending on the weight of the mount, I'm not sure I'd trust drywall by itself.
The instructional above is wrong. If you put the toggle bolt in as shown, you have to remove the machine screw to hang the mount. If you remove the screw, the toggle will fall down inside the wall. Further, hanging a mount with a toggle bolt requires the machine screw head be left visible. Rather tacky, I'd say.

Hook n Line offers a good solution. I've used big ones like this to hang both kudu and waterbuck without issue. Mark
