I can remember dreaming at least once the night before Opening Day that I had overslept and missed being in the woods at sunrise. Then I woke up only to find it was just 2 or 3am.

^^^Kind of how I go about figuring my wakeup time. I work backwards thinking how long each tasks takes. We have one set up right by camp and another it takes a full hour to drive to so it makes a huge difference which stand is being hunted. Also some setups take a lot longer to road corn than others. What i do different than most is that I prefer to hunt from daylight to dark so I try to eliminate as many potty breaks as possible by never drinking anything at all till my in stand lunch break. I had a kidney stone once while hunting and was told I was dehydrated, so theres that.
However, this year Ive already killed my buck and Im sitting with my elderly Mom 24/7 so I dont guess I will get up opening morning till Mom hollers through the baby monitor. Alls good.

Wake up at 330. Get to our land by 430. Fry some eggs, bacon and taters. Head to stand 545 and I'll be all set before 6.

3:00 am for me. I have to take a quick shower and get on the road since I have 75 miles to drive between SW Houston and my spot in the SHNF. I like to be in my spot over an hour before the sun rises.

I'll get up around 3:30 and get ready, fix breakfast and coffee, do my routine, then leave the house at 4:45 and drive 35 min. to the ranch, feed the road, and
I'll be settled in at 5:45.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.
