Anybody have any luck with deer coming to pumpkins, I guess up North they are a big hit. I got about 6 at the girlfriends house guess I'll bust them open and see what happens.

Yes, after they started fermenting.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

Oh yeah, I throw old pumpkins people give me in feeder pens every year and the deer tear them up. I have to throw them in pens or cows/ hogs will get to them first.

Deer love melons of any kind. A friend had a ranch on the McCullough San Saba line and his neighbor had a melon patch a couple miles north and he was always complaining about the deer.

I couldn’t even get hogs to eat mine. This. I've dumped them out several times on the years and they just slowly decay through their 50-year half-life.

Never tried pumpkins but I know for a fact that they will eat watermelons.

Never tried pumpkins but I know for a fact that they will eat watermelons. I saw them take out a 1/3 of a 20 acre patch in Athens 40 years ago. I was young so didn’t understand the impact on the farmer at the time, but a 1/3 loss had to hurt.

When I put them out I always bust them first, this way they can get to the inside that they want easier.

I put them out at my lease and they never touched them. Right next to a feeder that they were using every day.

Same for me not even the hogs wanted them. X2, I was so disappointed. I just knew that the deer would knock themselves over trying to eat them. Hogs walked right by them without a glance.
