I drove to my lease late yesterday afternoon by backroads. I live about 15 miles from my lease in norther Erath county and can get there by traveling the caliche roads or back roads since I live in the country. I left the house around 5 pm so I could see how the deer movement was before getting dark. It wasn`t until I got within 1.5 miles of my lease that I could tell the rut was happening. I saw 2 nice mature bucks within 1/2 mile of each other out in the open with does. Both of the bucks necks were swollen pretty good and very mature. I went and sat 3 time last week and never saw any rutting activity other than a small buck chasing a small doe.

I'm in eastern Erath. I've seen more deer than ever on our place. Lots of chasing and fighting. Bucks making scrapes. The cooler weather really kicked them off. No acorns this year, deer are hammering the oats and feeders.

Almost on the Eastland county line and I've been seeing bucks chasing does for about 2 weeks now, Actually seems to be slowing a little around us. Thanksgiving week should be full blown rut, I hope.

Just West of Hannibal. Saw young bucks harassing does last weekend. Also starting to see bucks that were not on cams when they were in bachelor groups. Definitely seems like they have transitioned to their fall patterns and waiting on the ladies to cooperate.

Just outside of Bluff Dale and I've got bucks on camera fighting and smelling the air a lot. Seems like it's either on or close, but haven't laid actual eyes on recently to confirm
Wish the weather was cooler this weekend, but hopefully it will still be good

Warm windy weather has sure slowed them down here. Need cool, drizzly weather. Maybe monday-tuesday.
