I suspect it will be the camp cooks who will be the earliest risers come Opening Day. Who knows, some might even stay up all night and never know what walked past them while they were sleeping in the stand at 8am. Well, at least there won't be those who forgot to adjust their alarm time on their cell phone after the time change.
I should be up and at it no later than 4:45am in order to be in my stand around an hour before sunrise.

I'm sleeping in. I love it before the deer set their clocks back.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

Bout 2 minutes before legal shooting light... just early enough to start a cup of hot, black coffee in the Keurig, grab the binoculars off the top of the refrigerator, and open the shades of the patio back door to start scanning. If the weather is nice, I may even set the rifle on the patio table and sit in one of the chairs out there. If colder than 55, I'll just stay in the house where it is 74.
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

5:30. Make breakfast and have my 2 cups of coffee........when I leave depends on which set I choose......I try to arrive at the walk to the blind location when there is just enough light to walk without a flashlight....

4am. takes an hour to get the wife up and dressed and out the door. Then 30 minutes to the property, then another 15-20 to get settled and quite in the stand. So 45 minutes before sunrise.

Sunrise is 6:52, which means legal light is 6:22. I'd like to be in the stand by 6:00 or so. Figure 30 minute drive to drop Dad off, park, hike to my own stand, 30 minutes to wake/shower/dress/load up, and another 15 minutes or so for coffee, means I'm getting up at 4:45.

I like to be sitting 30 minutes before legal light, so will be in stand a bit before 6 with my coffee and pop tarts for breakfast. I move pretty quick in the morning, so no need to set the alarm to go off before 5:15ish.

Will leave camp at 5:00-5:15 since it takes about 30 minutes in the sxs to get to the blind. So I expect I will be up by 3:30. Pack lunch and drinks for the whole day.

This is a good post. I need to back into what time I need to get up due to changes in my transportation this year.
My house in Rayburn Country in East Texas is about 30 min from Camp at our lease. I like to be in my stand by 6:00 am at the latest, really like to get there sooner. My feeder goes off at 6:15. This year I will be riding an electic bike due to my bum foot, broke it moving a tripod couple of months back. I am not sure how long its going to take me to get from camp to my stand on an electric bike in the dark. It will haul arse on its own. My guess I can get there in 5-10 min easy. Its a lot quiter than my 4 wheeler, hunting buggie or my loud arse Tahoe hunting truck.
I think 4:30 seems about right to get up. Gives me time to drink some coffee grab something to eat and get out the door. I try to get all my stuff ready in my truck the night before so all I have to do is walk out with my phone and coffee jug. Maybe a snack in my pocket.
Thanks, Billy

For those of you like me who prefer to pick up your breakfast at a local eatery on your way out, don't forget to check to see what time they now open on weekends. As we all know, the Rona has played havoc on normal business hours.

Get in the blind Fri night after asking my lease-mates what they're going to be doing for lunch the next day while I clean my deer. Have a beer or two and ipad for entertainment in the evening, go to sleep, wake up an hour or so before sun-up, make some coffee, have some Mountain House Breakfast Skillet (really good) then shoot my deer, that's the plan. My only concern is when/where to take my AM dump. :-)

I'll get up, have a couple cups of coffee with my meds, fix a thermos of coffee, pack my breakfast and snacks, and be in the blind at least 30 min before first light.

Up around 4:30 or so to get ready/eat breakfast, check the wind/weather and drive to the blind around 5:30 or so. Put my gear(archery or rifle is a bit different) in the blind and then hand corn along with road feed after everything is in the blind. Then have to park the Ranger and walk back to the blind to get in about 20 minutes before daylight. To early and the deer will finish off the road or hand corn and leave before the feeder goes off at 6:25. The longer into the season I go the faster the deer come into the sound of the roadfeeder.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?
