What's the best racoon bait to use? want to try to catch some of those corn bandits! thanks

I hear they love Big Red. A friend told me.

I use vanilla wafers. But they will eat nearly anything.

Corn, milo, sweet feed, wet or dry cat food, sardines, protein pellets, marshmallows, wet or dry dog food, fish pellets, cotton ball with sardine oil on it, ...etc....are all things I have used....if it is edible and smells good to them they will eat it.

Dry catfood is the least hassle and it works. 'Learned it on here.

Someone told me you never see raccoons around where monkeys are fed.

Was told by GW and it works great in live traps, Jumbo marshmallows. Said they look like turkey eggs. I don't
know about that, but they did work great. I put two outside of trap and one inside.

They were raiding my corn feeder so I just put corn in the trap. When they hit my protein feeder i put protein in the trap.

I use dry cat food in FB dog proofs and then spray inside with a few squirts of 80/20 fish oil and crayfish oil.

JMHO- I don't like wet or mushy baits in my DPs.
One more thing to clean up

I have had incredible success with Duke's Dog Proof Coon Traps. I buy them on eBay for less than $15 each. They are highly effective with corn in the bottom and then I top it off with little marshmallows or canned cat food.

cat food, i get the cheap stuff from the dollar store, $1 for 3 pounds.

They'll eat anything but EZ for you is dry cat food or small marshmallows. Put in small zip lock bag and in your jacket pocket.
Remember to use Duke's dog proof traps and snap some paws.

Try Golden Marlin. Mix that with Big Red. Buy it at Tractor Supply

I use the cheapest dry cat food I can get at DG then pour a little strawberry syrup over it.

I hate stinky stuff like cat food and sardines so I started baiting like with honey buns and pop tarts.

Sprinkle a little corn over them too.

Corn.....it’s already in your feeder and caused the problem from the get go. Don’t overthink it.
