I am happy with my Stealth Cam. Has been reliable and monthly fees through AT&T are reasonable.

Just got a moutrie cell cam, only bad thing is the cover you open to get to the SD card also allows the camera to swing in half, exposing the batteries and they fall out easy.

As mentioned, there are a lot of recent threads on this subject. Tactacam Reveal is new, cheap, and reliable (so far).

I bought a Spypoint Cell-Link to use on one of the cams I already own. Spent $59 for it and extremely happy with is so far. They can be found now for $49 also. I put mine out 9 weeks ago and still using the same batteries I started with in it and they show 70% capacity still. I get pics every 2 hrs and pay $15/month for unlimited pics with no activation fees and month to month. Cheaper plans are available.

I've never used anything but Moutrie. I have 1, XV7000, 3 XV6000 and two MV's connected to cameras.

I do know some of the guys have posted Tactacam pics that were really good. I have a some really good clear pics with my Moutrie cams, but If I had to bet the Tactacams are slightly better pics.

I think the cam interface from your phone is worth something too. The moutrie app seems to be good for me, I can scan the bar code on a new Moutrie cam in the field and set one up in the field in a heartbeat. I have no idea what interface the other cams have. I'm probalby to far down the road short terms with Moutrie but I want to be informed for for long term. I plan to look into Tactacam and see what that interface is and other stuff.

Whatever a guy goes with, I'd make sure battery life is good or better use external solar/battery charger. I have two solar/batteries, they will run a moutire XV-6000 for a long time. After about three years the battery in the solarpanel battery combo goes out. Those batteries can be bought on Amazon for 5 bucks each and easy to change. Changing out 12, AA batteries every 3-4 months is not cheap over time.

Thanks, Billy

It’s also unavailable anywhere. I was going to pick up a second one but they are MIA. Probably due to price/performance bang for the buck. Kicking myself now for not ordering a second one when I bought the first one.

Oh, I should say, they ARE available from people on Ebay for way over normal price. But I wouldn’t give those jerks the sweat off of my balls if they were dying of thirst in the Sahara desert.
