Been thinking about getting one of their scopes. I have some experience with them since my M-4 on active duty wore an ACOG witht the green crosshair and it was really good. But I have zero experience with them as far as sporting scopes. Does anybody have one? What do you think about them if you do? The reviews are good but they never really give any in depth info. Are they worth it? Or would I be better off going with Swarovski or Zeiss etc...?
I have shot Leupolds for years and never had any issues with them but I'm thinking about getting rid of a bunch of rifles and dropping down to 1 or 2 for most of my hunting (thinking Tikka in 308) and as I am getting older (58 on my next b'day) my eyes aren't what they once were so I'm looking to top end glass. Any input is appreciated.

I have several of the Trijicon AccuPower 3-9x40. They are excellent optics. Japanese built with Japanese glass. Mine was about $500 and I'd rate the glass as VX3 or better. They are sound mechanically and I've not had any issues with them. I'd take a Trijicon over a Leupold of similar price every time. They have revamped them line and added higher end optics which I'm sure have really good glass but I've never handled them.

You're on the right track with the rifle you mention. A Tikka CTR in .308 has been #1 in my line up for about 5 years. I've killed everything with it, some of it way out there. It's a great set up. Leupold hasn't given me a reason to look elsewhere. I'll be following this, I may be upgrading one of my set ups. I keep an open mind.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

If you are looking at Zeiss and Swaro price range, I would also give Nightforce a look.

The 10mile series look very nice The 4.5 - 30 10 mile is made by LOW in Japan. There are several other brands that use the same scope body and internal components. Each brand will have their own specs as to the glass quality, reticle styles, turret styles, etc.. But they are all basically the same scopes. Athlon Cronus BTR Delta Stryker Raven RS.4 Leica PRS Tract Toric And some other brands. The prices vary pretty wide between all of them, but they all are pretty much the same scopes, some have different features, and better glass quality.
