Assuming you won't be going much past 100 yards with a .450 Bushmaster, and a 50 yard zero. This one is nice. We got one for my stepson's .223 AR and the illuminated diamond is quick! Plus having 4X available is quite handy.

I have the SS 1-6X and love it! Though it has the ability to have exposed turrets, I leave them covered. I learned my holds with a .223 to 500 yards, using the Mil reticle. But I could see it being overkill on a .450 Bushmaster. Your rig, you may want 6X on the top end, I don't know.

I wouldn't spend more than 350 on a nice tough as nails compact lightweight SFP 2-7 with a good 3 hash ranging reticle that works with the ballistics of the 450 bushmaster out to 300y with 100y zero. Leupold 2-7x33 VX-R at 500 if you want illumination.

I put a Vortex Copperhead 4-12x44 on my .458 socom and zeroed at 100 yards. The Copperhead is made for magnum recoil use and this was on sale when I got it. The first one had internal issues from manufacturing. They sent me a new replacement. Works great.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Is the rifle a hunting rig, self-defense, daylight only, day/night, etc.? How do you use it? There are many quality scopes out there, so it really depends on what you are trying to do. A quality 1-6x would be a 98% solution, a quality 1-8x would be a little more versatile but cost more. I've got and really like a Sig Bravo 3, but the Bravo 5 and the Steiner S432 also seem very nice. I've got a couple of 1-8x (Burris XTR II and Athlon Cronus) that I use and like, but so much depends on how you use the rifle.

It would be primarily used for deer and pigs from 50 to 200 yards. I guess I'd shoot a human at the same distances if they were trying to attack me.

I had an old 3x9 Nikon Buckmaster sitting around. Put it on my .450 BM, sighted it at 100 yds and have never felt the need to do anything different.

Be sure to consider eye relief to prevent scope eye. I wouldn't go under 3.75" on the 450 Bushmaster.

I had an old Simmons Atec laying around I put on mine. All I use it for is pigs and has worked well to this point. I didn't see the need in spending a ton of money on this gun. It was a cheap build from the beginning.

I am running a Trijicon Accupoint 1-4x24 on my .458socom and I have been extremely happy with it and it has handled the recoil no problems so far.

1x-4x or 1.5x-5x is adequate. The .450 Bushmaster has a rainbow trajectory at 200yds.
