Jeb, my labrador pup, got into one of those black plastic containers for rat poison. I think I caught him moments after he got the bait bar out but, nevertheless, we had to give him hydrogen peroxide so he would lose everything in his stomach. He's good but here is your PSA: those bait boxes are not puppy proof!

Isn't there something about vitamin K as well? Did you call the vet? Good luck to the pup, two of ours got two small pellets one time and it freaked me out (they were ok).

Man I'm glad you knew what to do and found out he'd swallowed it so soon!
a couple of shot glasses of peroxide will usually make them empty the contents of their stomach in short order.
I hope your pup is ok
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Beautiful pup! They will destroy anything. Ours tore off the aluminum side vents on the garage, along with numerous other things totalling over 4- figure $ at our house. We love her anyway. Hope Jeb has no ill effects.

My lab years ago got one of the waxy green cubes....Called the Vet...gave him couple shots of peroxide and 15 min later it all came up.... Vet told me it takes ALOT of rat poison,4 or 5 of those bars to get a adult dog sick... When i got home to Dallas went and got a Iv of Vitamin K for safe measures......

Another PSA
I always keep a pouch of premade beef gravy. If emergency arrives, I will mix the gravy with the hydrogen peroxide.
Pup will scar if down like its..........well...........beef gravy
few minutes later it ALL comes up, so be OUTSIDE

Hope Jeb has no ill effects. Yep, my brothers chocolate lab pulled an exterior faucet out of the wall. Mine was destructive as heck as a pup. Abbey my GWP got a rat bait out of my shed but I caught her before she ate much if any.

I had an older lab (17 yrs old) that got into a packet of Dcon rat poison. She ate everything including almost all the cardboard. Called the Vet and he told us there wasn't enough in one packet to hurt her. The active ingredient is a blood thinner. She acted more like a puppy for several days than she had in years. I considered giving her a spoon full every couple days after that just to have her acting like her younger self again. She made it to the young age of 18 1/2 before she couldn't carry on anymore.

When my Chocolate Lab was a Pup (about 8 months old) he chewed through the low side A/C line to the Air Conditioner Condenser out in the back yard. It's a soft copper line cased in insulation, but I still couldn't believe it. They will chew on almost anything when bored. He is many years gone now, but was a great companion and hunting partner.

Not poison per say, some years ago our lab ate thirty packs ( one month supply) of supplements including some of the plastic containers that my son who is a high level crossfit competitor had left on a chair. The lab was a very large 122 pounder. Surprisingly he was okay. Don't know if he was stronger and fitter after that, though!
