I moved my 401k over to a money market fund after the markets surpassed the pre-covid highs. Figured we'd see some volatility during the election.

Regretted it when the market kept going up and up... but as of today... I'm ahead of where I would've been without moving to a money market fund.

Waiting until after the election to decide what to do.

I'm almost afraid to wait. I'm afraid the market will instacrash if Biden wins.

Right there with ya Buzz. If Biden were to win I see it tanking with all his proposed taxes and restrictions/regulations. His plan does not support growth at all and that’s why people are jumpy right now. I’ve always been a “long term” guy with the 401, but rolling ours to a money market account on Monday really payed off the last couple days. We will see what happens between now and the election, but it makes me sleep better just being on the sidelines right now.

The important thing is to be ready to jump right back in and know where you are going when Trump is re-elected next week.

I'll put on my flame suit for this one...I see the market potentially going up if there was a blue wave, only because there will be so much stimulus and spending that our dollar will be devalued beyond belief. That means huge inflation, and the market will have to keep up. The contrast to that would be a crashing market between November and January when the switchover takes place because nothing will be passed. Similarly, a split congress/president would cause the market to potentially go down because things won't be passed from either side quickly/easily

Temporary infusion until regulations caught back up and cause excessive compliance spending.

Also remember the big tax savings that Biden vowed to quickly remove

Recently spoke with my investment advisors. I sold off a lot of the slow puppy investments and went to cash with that money. Kind of hedging my bets. The market was at approx 28500, so it was a good time to transact.

Just seems like a normal October market. I used to make my annual SEP-IRA contribution on October 15. By the end of the month the market would be down, and that contribution would have disappeared. Just unfortunate that we also had a downturn in September this year.

I'm not worried about it. That doesn't mean that I like it. I simply grin and bare it.

I was just buying Amazon while it is on sale. Dropping significantly yesterday and today, it just hit $2950. With the beat on earnings, the world shutting down again, and christmas coming. It's a no brainer no matter who wins. All those people who moved long term holdings to cash will be losing significant dollar value due to inflation if they don't reinvest it soon and IMO after the election cycle settles, they will.

Bobo, you are worrying me. Youre spending too much time in OT and not enough in Deer Hunting. Some of us want deer aged and scored, get your priorities right.

Lol, this year is about my oldest. I’m passing the torch, she has 5 tags to fill. No limitations. Infact I don’t even have a game camera up.

I don’t start hunting until Dec. Got mule deer in Dec and Jan and Aoudad in Feb
