Hoping to do a guided crane hunt this season.. There's a few guys that do it down in Rosenberg about 30 mins from me, but I may end up making the haul to Lubbock/central TX. We'll see smile

I just booked on in El Campo. I didn’t realize you could hunt them around south. Thought they were mostly in the panhandle. I’m looking forward to this.

Plenty of cranes in south Texas, just a much shorter season on them down here.

Lots of cranes in the south and up around Wichita Falls but the biggest numbers by far are up in the panhandle. Amarillo/Lubbock area

Was playing golf in Seguin today and we saw maybe 5 or 6 flights pass over. Maybe 100 birds total.

Young county the fields on and around my deer lease have been planted in wheat just waiting for rain. The years we have wheat, we have cranes. And three days ago I saw as many as three separate flocks overhead. A few days earlier I saw one of the biggest flocks of cranes I have ever seen there. I'm excited. Having shot a sambar deer and my 2nd whitetail buck this season, my deer hunting is done so there will be no indecision on what to hunt when the cranes show. It's time to dust off the crane decoys and make any repairs to get them ready.

I was up in the Panhandle yesterday and never saw one crane. This was up 84 to Lubbock and around Plainview, Olton, Spade and Abernathy. No water in any of the playa lakes that normally are covered with geese and crane.

I was north of Shamrock last week. I saw a lot of cranes in the wheat fields. We jumped one bunch of about 100.

There's a huge refuge of some sort out near Muleshoe, about 70 miles NW of Lubbock. Thousands & thousands of cranes.

Would if I could, but it's a no guest lease. When my hunting lease partner is not there it is sure no fun putting out 75 decoys and picking them up by myself. If I wrangle permission on another property I'll let you know.

I live in Taylor County 5 miles east of 277. Right now there are at least 500 crane in a field just west of my place and can’t touch em until the 27th. This sucks

Just checked the map. I'll be visting my wife's family in Mt. Pleasant soon. All the counties near there are closed to Crane hunting. Damn.

To Far East for Cranes. Some decent duck hunting around that area though
