I shoot year round but still shot mine 2 weeks ago. I had to change ammo so I have shot about a box through it now.

Always at the beginning of the season. Then only if needed. I wish I had a place to shoot more often.

I shoot em all every now and then. Some more than others. But I will know it’s ‘on’ before I hunt with it.

I did not last year and it very nearly cost me. Better to know you are "on" than to guess

I usually don't do it for opening weekend because I shoot mine every month throughout the year at pigs and steel. However, I just cleaned the bore on my primary rifle so I'll be shooting it when I get there on Friday. I'll also be shooting my 7mm Rem Mag to make sure it's sighted in since I just took it apart and removed a little material from the barrel channel.

My guns get shot year round. They are always ready.
I make my kids or guests shoot first though.

I make sure that mine are sited in and ready to go before the season starts and if something happens that I think might have knocked it out of zero. I think it would be irresponsible not to do everything you can to make sure that you will make a good shot when you pull that trigger and not just wound an animal.
If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

I do every year with no exception. I waited till I got to the lease one year to shoot at a paper target because I had never really had a problem. WRONG....It did not hit the paper. I had to make a trip to the pigeon road shooting range and have it re bore sighted.

for sure.. one of the things we did at our lease was to put up a 1" steel hanging target at 100 yards It's nice to be able to do a quick 1 shot confirmation, we shoot suppressed so I have done this at night as well, not disturbing anyone via the can.

I always shoot on paper first just to verify nothing has changed. Lots of people shoot groups. I only care where that first bullet out of a cold barrel goes because that is the shot that gets fired at the deer. If it goes where it is supposed to then a group size is not relevant.

I was at the range today - Deitz there by New Braunfels. I had to squeeze in because there were so many shooters. I'm sure the majority were hunters, but I was surprised some were just shooting recreationally during the middle of the day during the middle of the week. Election anxiety???

I used to shoot all the time, relaod, shoot year round. Now work and other life stuff seems to alway get in the way. I don't even have my reIoading stuff set up. I am going to do my best to slip out of work early tomorrow and get to the East Texas house close to the least and get to the Range in Huntington. With my dang broke foot I'm just now getting to where I might be able to walk down range and post a target.
Even if I can't I have three guns in the safe I'd bet a dollar to a donut will shoot a tick over inch high at a hundred but one never knows. Years back I had custom built 284 win that I picked up knowing it was dead on and I missed a big Mexico buck, it was higher than a grocery bill and shot way to the left.
I miss reloading and and going to the range, lots of fun reloading and shooting. Something I plan to do a lot of once I retire. I have so many things lined up to do when I retire I can't wait, about 6 months to a year at most.
Thanks, Billy
