Any whiskey drinkers tried any of the Balcones spirits?

Which did you like or not like?

I've been making my way through a few different whiskeys.

Was thinking about trying something from Balcones distilled in Waco..

I picked up the Balcones Shiner Bock, it’s decent, not their best. I’ve almost everything Balcones has put out, I wish I could remember which ones I liked best, I didn’t hate any of them.

I have tried a few Balcones (like BP, I do not recall which ones) and they were very good, I would never turn down a pour. But they did not became one of my go-to or favorites. In the same price range my taste leans differently.

What they did to Chip Tate was wrong, with that said.

The new lineage is supposed to be great, I haven’t had it yet

Thier Texas single malt is really good, the only I don’t like that I’ve had is the baby blue.

I would check out IronRoot also.

I generally enjoy most of their Single Malt variations, but cannot stomach their Bourbons. The only bourbon they produced that I really liked was a Wheated Bourbon, which was a distillery only release from a couple of years ago that I picked up on my way through Waco.

I'm a pretty big fan of their Texas Rye, but not enough of a fan lately to pay for a bottle of it.

I may give that a try. I'll look at Specs the next time I am there.

I have had a few different ones, none of them are memorable for me as I haven't continued to buy anymore.
