Because I don’t pull out my phone on calls/traffic stops to get the time.

And a nice watch looks classy with a suit/business attire.

And it’s easier to wear a gps watch for running than carrying a big phone.

Right there with you, nothing about a $5,000+ wrist watch sounds like a good idea.

I don't get it either. I'm still wearing the same $150 Fossil I've had for 5 years, just replaced the battery a month or so ago. It keeps the time and date and I can use it as a stop watch if I wanted to. I'd rather look at my wrist than pull out my phone to check the time.

But yet you see no problem spending thousands on a gun? Different strokes for different folks. I see nothing wrong with either if it’s what you are into. And a Rolex will also hold its value very well. Me personally, I kinda like a nice watch and maybe one of these days if money is not a problem, I might pick me up one. I’m gotta stay focused on getting the kids through school right now... both of them want to go into the medical field... ouch!

If I see that it’s worth it and if I had it, wouldn’t think twice. I would be able to see what made it worth thousands. For the life of me, I can’t see what makes a Rolex or even MontBlanc stuff worth the price. Maybe one day I’ll be able to be around more of the stuff and see. Strictly looking at pics, I can’t justify it. It’s just a name and a logo to me.

I’ll likely never own a Rolex, since I don’t want to right now, but I get it. Is spending an extra 4 grand on a rifle worth closing up the group it shoots by a quarter inch? Only the fella with cash in his hand can answer that.

And dang it, Kyle, there are plenty of respectable watches to be had for $150. That’s about all I’m willing to spend on them, myself, but you can do better than Fossil. They’re like the Nickelback of watches.

Nobody needs either, but a watch can do more for a person than just tell time.

Because mine is awesome lol. It’s a bit battle worn and dirty but it does what I need it to do.

I have a real nice looking Tag that I wore to work for years. Only wear it to special dress up occasions now. Wore a bunch of Timex Expedition watches at $35 each, but they didn’t last long. Now I have the Luminox that I like a lot. There was a time when I made mucho money and toyed with the idea of a Rolex, but just could not make myself do it. That much for a watch just didn’t work for me.

But, I did drop serious money on a Rolex for the wife for the 50th anniversary. Like me with the Tag, she wears it for the rare special occasion. The Apple watch is her shiny new toy.

I am very glad I never bought a Rolex. I did see a great looking Tag the other day though. I probably won’t buy it. Don’t need it.

Well, Kyle, as long as you know what the marks between the big numbers are, you’ll be alright.

When I was in dental school one of my doc professors wore a gold Rolex President every day. I thought that watch was awesome and always admired it, and ever since I have been a watch guy. Once I graduated and started making some money I started buying them. It's not a habit for everyone. But, they generally go up in value so typically they are a good investment. Not many things you can buy, use for many years, and worth more than what you paid for them. Some worth a lot more....
