Anyone tried using a shooting stick while hunting from a platform tripod? I have a short, 8-ft tripod that doesn't have a safety rail or shooting rest. I've always used it in areas where the shots were close quarters (40 yards or less) but now have it on the edge of pasture. I've never thought about using a shooting stick with it but don't see why it wouldn't work. It has a swivel boat seat and small platform for the feet.

TIA

I shoot a crossbow out of a tripod. I made a piece of PVC pipe about 14 inches tall. I put it on my thigh and on the crossbow stock. Works great. I assume it would also work for a rifle. Good lock.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I thought “real” hunters didn’t hunt from stands.

I have used my shooting sticks in my tripod. Made sure the feet got a good non-slip bite. Worked well. My shooting sticks have been used many times.

Primos sells this to use with their monopods. I have a couple, very sturdy.
