It happens to all of us i suppose. Some of my fondest memories related to hunting and shooting have come from things not going as planned.

Brings back one of my worst hunting memories. Happened on a mountain in Colorado at 1st light one morning. That click will allways haunt me.

Hi Gary: What is the secret to call up a Bobcat? I have tried many times in South Texas, Last year I had a big one come out of the brush and run across the sendero , it never stopped.

No secrets. Cats love thickets, especially white brush in South Texas. Call to the thickets but set up so that they have to cross some semi-open ground to get to the source of the sound. Rabbit, rodent or yellowhammer woodpecker distress sounds always seem to work well. Don't worry about wind, keep sun behind you and camo up and use cover to breakup your outline. Cats feed with their eyes and ears, not so much their noses.
I give a lot of tips in my book, EYES FRONT if you want more details.
Thanks and Adios,
Gary

It's always a damn loud click.
Ended up taking a doe and as my Dad and I were cleaning her the 8 point pokes out of the brush to watch us less than 30 feet away.
