"If i lived up in the mountains of New Mexico or Colorado and didn't have to make long highway trips like i do now, i would drive a double cab Tacoma short bed with 33's on it and be perfectly happy. The size difference between a modern day half ton and a 3/4 ton is minimal with a short bed on the 3/4 ton"
Can you see over the dash in a full size P/U? Ford makes some bad arse power seats
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I own a 2018 4x4 crew cab Colorado. It’s got plenty of power and looks sharp. I don’t think you could go wrong with one. Then again, 4 out of 5 third world terrorists drive a Tacoma, so those things must be tough

I bought a 2019 Taco put a 1.5 inch lift and put 33’s On it, just got back from Colorado did crazy mountain roads (road to Mt Antero, look it up) scariest road i have ever been on in my life.... They go anywhere, run for ever, and extremely reliable....its not that the other small trucks are bad they just aren’t Proven yet, 20 years from now we will see how many of them are on the road. Plus i wanted to do some Overlanding things with mine and needed more aftermarket parts, Tacoma has a Cottage Industry of aftermarket options available, anything you want to do to it can be done. I’m going Solar on mine for my Dometic Fridge Next, I just took it Hunting and didn’t have to take any ice (I’m over the heavy Yetis) ARB and Dometic are paving a new thought process, cost more in the beginning but the price will come down with Competition.

Do your 33's rub with that 1.5"? 33's are not as big as you think. It would probably clear 33's without a lift. Stock size tires on many pickups 1/2 ton and smaller included are 31-33 inches.

You can fit a 32” tire on a stock Tacoma with minimal rub

There's a rather big difference in a 1/2 ton and a Tacoma lol. 33s stock will rub turning into a parking lot
