A customer brought me his new Alamo rifle in 28 Nosler for a load work up with the 195 Berger. The rifle shot very well and was very comfortable to shoot. Load A shot .93" at 250 yards, which is .35 MOA. I'd say that's a good shooting set up! I think Loads D and E also shot very well, and may have shot better after cleaning from a new rifle.

Alamo builds a good rifle. Your load work up, probably didn't hurt anything either

Even the "bad" loads (if you want to call it that) shot pretty good. Everything was sub MOA, which you often do not see that for all groups during load testing.

We stopped at Load E. From experience, I know I will hit pressure just beyond load E. I try to keep it right up to the max, but not go over. Also, on this new barrel, I think it will speed up after 50-100 rounds.

I think the barrel was a #2 contour, sporter size, with a NF NX* scope. So probably 7.5 to 8 lbs. It had a large side baffle brake, so recoil was very manageable.

Outstanding. Toyed with getting a 33 as a moose/ bear rifle but the Whelen at the ranges I hunt in tight cover just works.

Is it odd for the group with the highest ES have the tightest group?
