Got my plots drilled in this past weekend. got a dusting of rain on them earlier this week, and more coming. I hate the temp swings for hunting but the rain in cooler weather followed by a warm up should get the plants growing well.

I plant not as much as an attractant but as something to help cut back on the feed bill during the winter. So been hunting during bow season as if the plots were there already. But I know the plots coming up will be a big help to draw more deer in.

Looks like we got a quick hard rain. Hopefully the seed we planted four weeks ago is still there.

No rain here since mid Sept. Rained just east and then a north of me yesterday. I drilled in my oats this morning...it was powder dry.

The field I got planted 10/23 is popping up now and the deer were already in it yesterday afternoon. The 3 I didn't plant until Monday the 26th haven't started coming up yet. Maybe in a few more days hopefully.

Update on my plots in southern oklahoma....I have sprouts everywhere, the ground is so dry I am not sure how long they can live. We need rain in a bad way and we missed our 80% chance Friday night/sat am.

I was curious how the turner deer plot with clover would do in the no till (genesis 3 pulled behind a Kawasaki
Mule) and for all the lack of rain we have had I would say the plots will turn out well if we can get some rain soon. It seems all the species of plants are well represented in the sprouts so far. Time will tell. Overall very pleased with the initial results.
