This is fishing, but very interesting. I troll with giant rapala lure, 2 big treble hooks. Gaff the king mackrel and as it comes into the boat ,, one hook in the king, and the other goes into the ankle. I was taking the movie, and could have killed the king in 1/2 second with the cutco knife I had , but then my movie would not be interesting. I let his brother 'handle' the problem. Notice Devon has a death grip on the lure trying to hold it still.

Been there a few times. Have scars from kings and mahi. 70 lb ling got me too. It happens fast. Had my hand and my foot ripped open, cool scars so the kids say...

Pour bleach on it, wrap with a clean rag and tape to stop the bleeding so people don't freak out, and get back to work....

This was my method. You have to go at it hard. The hook will come back out of the same wound that it created. I've also used needle nosed plyers. Many doctors run the hook out and snip off the barb. That just seems wrong to me.

That will be sore for awhile.

This can slow the infection but it won't do much for the abrasion.

Ive used this technique before and had it used on me... more times than i care to admit... twice with the same f-ing hook. It works well.

I had a treble hook in my hand and a 5 lb. hybrid striper had one hook in the top lip and the other hook in the bottom lip. His mouth was closed on the other hooks on the treble hook. If my wife had not been with me I do not know how it would have turned out. I was able to get the hook out in a couple of minutes, but I was white as a sheet when it was over.

I was the go to hook remover while fishing at SLP. Except for the exceptions. A surf fisherman burried a treble hoof in his cheek just below his eye. I passed.

Get a tetanus shot!

Never had a big fish do that to me, but have had several smaller fish hook me. Wound up in the Harlingen ER a few years back after an altercation with a 10” speckled trout. Sucker buried a treble in my knuckle, and we couldn’t pull it out with 12” channel-locks. That was not a lot of fun. I am super cautious with treble hook baits now, to the point I’ve started swapping trebles out for single hooks on baits.

So, how'd he get it out?

When I go fishing with one of my best friends I can be guaranteed that he is going to hook something or someone with a cast at least once.

As you can see at the end, the hook was buried,, we had to push it thru, cut the barb, then it came out. I wish I had recorded the moans and groans as we pushed it thru so we could cut the barb. When he has alzheimers and is in the nursing home and cant remember anything,, I think he will still remember that fishing trip.

LOL!! That's what I was wondering if you pushed it out. That's about the only way to do it without tearing more up.
