Price him like Wagyu and you could retire! Not only has he not missed any meals, looks like he found quite a few extras.

Just below Encinal, this ranch only supplements with cottonseed. No pellets.

Big old broke ear BRUTE!

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

With almost thirty years of lease experience, I am not sure I have seen a year in which so many deer are in such good condition.

This one looks like a finished show animal -

Here's another and yes, bullets will fly -

From a separate thread, "Since January 16th and all from 50 lb sacks, Klappenbach and I have placed in the feeders - 139 cottonseed, 444 protein & 175 corn for a total 37,900 pounds of "nourishment". Geez, those durn deer are killing me. I just may make some of the most expensive sausage in the whole wide world." This accounts for four blind set ups on a drawing area of roughly 1,000 - 1,200 acres for Klappenbach and myself.

The funny thing here is the biggest racks are not on the biggest bodied deer. 160-175 pounds dressed seems to be where the antler "rubber hits the road". There was one notable exception with one that weighed 199 pounds on the 2nd day, but this 160-175 pound range has been pretty consistent through the years and it appears to be that way this year with the nicest rack on camera.
