I've only got one so far. and only seen 1.

Not many Doves to shoot in my area either, some but not enough to get a limit on. Back in the seventies the Dove migrations was a thing of awe and a main flyway was between Dallas and Fort Worth.

we have shot in Yuma for years and i mean i would limit out using my double .410. but the last two years have been crap - i am guessing 50-60% drop in the numbers so i dontg think its a Texas thing.

we now have to go two days before the opener to find the flyways - and i mean drive 100 miles or more each day - they have moved every damn year. we notice the fields are 1/2 empty - so i think between the fields, spring rains, brooding areas being consumed by housing and chemicals being used has had a remarkable impact of birds - all type quail, doves, duck and pheasant

i really wonder if changing weather patterns affect this. Since Harvey in 2017, they just don't seem to have the same migratory patterns.

I just don’t think there’s near as many dove in Texas as Texas Parks and wildlife would have us believe. I know West Texas and South Texas were lights out for a few weeks, but sounds like that didn’t last too long. In central Texas...it is non-existent As far as huntable dove population. I just hope these are a few abnormal years and not the new normal. I miss dove hunting in my home county

Where I hunt in S Texas the birds have been thick all year, and they still are. It's not always like this though. We have good & bad years too, depending on rain and storms.

I hope you guys start seeing some birds soon.

I hunt in the area around San Antonio and points south and can certainly say the birds are here...but not in every field...I have to scout to find them and they do move around quite a bit...the hot field from one weekend my be an empty bathtub on the following weekend.

Lately, I have found them in plowed dirt fields, standing sunflowers, and croton (goat weed/dove weed)...and I have harvested birds with corn and Johnson grass seeds in their crops too.

I hunted an area outside of Breckenridge, a good amount of shots went off and I shot 8.

Update from my post two weeks ago:
Seeing a few flying around and some sitting on electric lines around my house but very few.
Still have acres of dove weed and the seeds are maturing so maybe that's what's drawing in these few.
Going to give them all a pass this season and hope they make it to next one and raise young.

I'm used to hearing shotguns going off in all directions in the evenings but haven't heard a single shot this season.

I've over in the Coleman County/Brownwood County line. Definitely not as many doves flying this season so far - though I seem to recall this was consistent with last year at this time. Might be wrong though. I do remember I was out at my property the weekend after the fall dove season ended last year - naturally I saw a ton of doves then and saw a ton of doves the following weeks on the game cams. Seems they showed up in numbers right after the fall dove season ended.

Saw several groups of doves last weekend. Either there was lots of activity within a few minute time-frame or I saw nothing. Managed to get a couple anyway.

This. Nice haul cleboje. If I knew how to shoot I would have at least matched that number last weekend too. It got frustrating towards noon on Sunday but the opportunity was there. Maybe I should be going to #7.5 shot instead of #8.

Well, I have all year to go to the trap range and get this down.

Less and less farming for crops in Bosque has turned a mecca into a terrible dove county.....Dove move when crops are not around...
