Nope

Read one book one time as a kid called Old Yeller, it made me depressed. I was done with books

I rather watch the movie or see it in real life, I find reading to be boring..........

That is just so sad. I guess I’ve read hundreds, maybe thousands of books. Reading opens your mind.

From the third to the six grade, I read every book in Davy Crockett Elementary School’s library. During the summer they let me check out a big stack of books to take home. After I read them a teacher would open the library so I could exchange my old stack for a new stack.

I was assigned summer reading projects through middle school. I always dreaded it, but every book blew me away. I was fortunate to have them forced upon me. We read classics like The Pearl, Of Mice and Men, To Kill a Mockingbird. All works of art.

AYCE ebooks are at www.ebookhunter.ch (use an ipad, not a pc, to download books or you'll be sorry... you'll alao get redirects but close the new tabs and keep at it, you will soon figure out the sites quirks)

Anybody know anything about this one? Not exactly Texas but I’ve been wanting to ask. I guess it’s a take off on The Searchers. Bill tell me if it’s any good.

Most, yes. Some, multiple times, I read a lot. And fast. With the attention span of a gnat.

fwiw, Im a published author & photographer in printed media. A side gig years ago, but it was fun at the time. Now I write screenplays on the side and read for research as much for pleasure.

I tend to read multiple books at once as you can see from this screenshot. It's a study habit thats stuck with me over the years. (Gates of Fire is one of my favorites. You should read it)

These are actual true to life stories taken from first hand accounts, and detailed historical events.
If you like westerns, these stories take the fluff out of them and get down to the nitty gritty.
I've roamed the hills since I was a kid where a lot of these stories originated, and it was easy for me to relate to the terrain where these events happened.

I read a lot. There’s always a book being read here at the house. I’ll read anything, even cereal boxes. I don’t think I can remember the best book I ever read, since there are too many to choose from. There was one I could never finish. it was “The rape of Nanking” by Iris Chang. Japanese atrocities in Nanking, China, prior to WW2. Horrifying beyond measure. I’ve read some horrifying books, but this one is in a class by itself.

On the fun read side, I think John Sandford is my favorite writer. I like Elmer Kelton for Texas stories. As for maybe the most riveting book and reading moment, I was reading Silence of the Lamb on an airline flight back to Houston. I had maybe 30 pages left when the plane landed. I couldn’t put that book down till they made me leave the plane. Went straight to my car in terminal parking, and in the dark and a tremendous rain and thunderstorm with constant lightning, I finished the book.

If a book grades out as A level, I’ll find a place for it on a shelf somewhere. Most everything else winds up at a local library or with a friend. The shelves are full, and have been for years, so an A level book has to displace a lower level book.

That book by Webb on the Rangers is a terrific book. That’s an A level book and sits on the shelves. I think that, at one time, it was used as a Texas history book. Probably not PC enough for today. Too bad history is rarely PC. Which brings to mind...

You guys want a good book? Read Guy Sajer’s book about him being impressed into the German army in WW2 and fighting on the eastern front. Chilling! It’s The Forgotten Soldier. His memoir, from boot camp till the end of the war. It’s right there with Helmet for my Pillow or With the Old Breed.
