Does anyone else on here use a redneck blind with the bow windows. I was bow hunting this weekend and had my shooting windows unclipped and ready to go. Or thats what a thought anyways. I always leave my front center window open so i can hear. About 5:05pm Saturday a 10 pt comes to my feeder so i got my bow ready and went to open my bow window and i guess the seal was slightly sticking to the window. The buck heard the tiniest sound of the window coming off the seal. I was pretty upset. Seeing as it would have been my best archery buck by far. Few things to consider. My feeder is only 20 yards aways from my blind. I moved it out to 40 yards after the sunday morning hunt to give me and the animals a little breathing room. 2nd thing he was a smart buck and was trying to catch my wind the whole time so he was on high alert. Just curious is there a remedy to put on the glass to keep it from sticking. Im sure the 80 degree weather isnt helping me any.

I would think if you put silicon spray on both the window and the seal, and let it dry while open, that it might not stick. Other option could be a light coat of wax on the window? Also, always open/shut all your windows when you get to your blind, if you're going to open only for shots.

Why not just preopen the windows when you unclip them? That should eliminate the week of being clipped shut stickiness.

When i get in the blind i open and close all shooting windows for this exact reason. And leave them unclipped. My guess is the center window being open wind pressure blew the glass to the bow window back against the seal. Either way im just opening all shooting windows from now on and going to run my scent slammer

My Redneck Blind window seals also stick, so I put a silicone liquid on them - which I have forgotten to do until this chat. At bow hunting range the noise would be a problem.

You could probably use bar soap rubbed on the seals, I would avoid any lubricant for fear of deterioration of the seals. If you have ever had a sticky shower door seal, dry bar soap rubbed on the seals prevents that until the moisture eventually removes it.

Marine stores carry silicon lube for sail bag zippers, etc. I find it works better than the silicon spray for window gaskets. The summer heat is what starts the sticking problem and. in a worse case, it will stick bad enough to tear the gasket right off. We used it extensively when in the tropics and it totally solved the problem.
