all you stick n string junkies, may I recommend The Texas Bowhunting Forum You using the gaymoor again this year? yes and maybe the 7mmMag I did get into bowhunting to the max. Hoyt Carbon Element, the whole 9 yards. My daughter still bowhunts but I just enjoy my rifles. Definitely nothing against all the bowhunters, it is much more of a challenge than rifle shooting

I finally developed some loads for my 8x60mmS Ernst Steigleder German sporting rifle, and also got a Nagel & Menz 9.3x62mm German sporting rifle which has turned out to be a great iron sight shooter.

Got a new 7-08 last year. Gonna try a Nosler 120 gr BT on Texas whitetail this year, after reading and hearing lots of positive stories about it.

For the first time in years it will the same as last season. Horizon switch barrel 20 inch 300 WSM for the annual elk adventures. This thing is a pleasure to tote in the mountains. Cow from last year.... I am trying different bullet the “Cayuga”from Patriot Valley as Federal discontinued the Edge bullet I used last year and it’s replacement is unavailable at this point.

it is a special run from the 80's Winchester feather weight / long action / 257 Roberts / shooting 95 grain game kings @ 2950
There once were 3 Amigos & we have consecutive SN# 257 Roberts from that run of Long Action Bobs. Where do you find 95gr GameKings in 257 cal? Not listed on Sierra's website...

I'll be trying to draw first blood with a couple of rifles. One is a Ruger M77 Hawkeye in .280 Rem. and the other is a Thompson Center Venture in 7mm Rem. Mag. Those are the only two "deer rifles" I have that don't have any kills and I need to remedy that situation. Of course, I'll have my go-to Bergara B14 Ridge 6.5 Creedmoor for when I hunt the area with longer shots because I'm just more confident with that one.

Hoyt Carbon Element, the whole 9 yards. My daughter still bowhunts but I just enjoy my rifles. Definitely nothing against all the bowhunters, it is much more of a challenge than rifle shooting I do enjoy sitting in a box blind with a rifle after a long bow season. I’m not 100% bow only I do enjoy a rifle shot from time to time. Depending on species I prefer to rifle hunt, but for whitetail deer and pigs I like the bow
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Too early to decide. The early favorite is my Winchester Model 70 25-06 with 100-grain Remington CorLokts. I like keeping it plain and simple.

Haven't hunted deer since Mrs. B, passed away but this year I'm going to use her little 7mm08.
