The time has come for me to pick up a good chrono for testing loads. I do not want to buy something cheap, or have something that attaches to the barrel. What do you all use/recommend? Thanks in advance!

I have never owned one until last month and I got the labradar, it’s awesome convenient and easy to use.

+3 I'm having trouble with the Labradar app working with my new phone but still is the best out there IMO.

If the Labradar is over your budget, try the new Pro-Chrono w/Bluetooth.
I went from the old pro chrono to the newest Magneto Speed unit. I sold it and bought the new pro chrono. Its wireless, just put the tripod where you want it from the muzzle.
As for the Labradar, it helps if you have no one shooting right next to you cuz it will sometimes pick up their shots too.
The Magnetospeed is a GREAT unit but its a pain in the azz to keep switching it from rifle to rifle, adjust for suppressor, then back to plain barrel.

I've never had trouble with mine picking up someone else's shots but sometimes I do have trouble getting it to read shots if there are baffles down range like at the Elm Fork range.
