 What ate my eggs?

I have about 12 hens, that are free range, they can go anywhere they want and are not penned at night. They sleep about 6 feet up in an open hen house. Some of these hens are up to 8 years old. We went on a trip for a week, left a feeder and plenty of water tubs, we came home to 4 nests full of eggs, 8-12 each. I threw away 3 nests and left one in case one of the hens decided to start sitting. The next morning, 11 or 12 eggs were gone from the coop, the hay was not disturbed, no shells, no yolks or signs of any broken eggs. None of the hens has ever been harmed. And I live in the middle of a subdivision surrounded by 6 Ft privacy fences. What could take 11 or 12 jumbo eggs away, not disturb the nest or the chickens and not break a single egg? I am pending borrowing a game cam from my buddy this weekend. Any guesses?

Chicken snake aka texas rat snake. x4 - look for piles of calcium (digested shells) in nearby shed/woodpile, etc. capture (intact) and relocate gently.

I had 6 hens and one of them went rogue and started eating the eggs. She left no signs. One day I was out mowing and 5 hens were with me so I went to look for #6. She was in the coop scarfing down the eggs. Well she sure made a fine meal.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I kill every rat snake I see. Texas quail already have enough issues without the finest egg eating machine ever created decimating their nests.

I think it could be a snake, my hens always have food, and they could have eaten eggs from any one of the nests, and they are not very clean when an egg breaks, every other egg in the nest gets junked up. Thanks everyone!!

There is a very fat healthy rat snake not far from those nests I would bet.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.
