I watched a doe run by the tractor with a small 8 point hot on her heels followed by 2 mature deer about 15 minutes apart in N.E. Tx. They came back by a short while later and only one 140 class 8 was hot on her heels so I guess thr was a little butt whooping that took place while they were gone. Our first rut is generally the last week of October to the first week of November but it’s starting early this year. It sucks we miss the best part of the rut and rifle season this year but that’s how it goes. They will all probably be locked down opening weekend

I can’t pull a bow anymore due to a shoulder issue and I can’t force myself to go to a crossbow yet. Maybe one day but my [censored] isn’t swole up that much yet

Just curious, what part of NE Texas did this take place? I hunt Southeast of Longview and so far have not seen any chasing. I saw several small scrapes under some low hanging limbs about e weeks ago so it should be getting close.

there will always be a little activity this time of year. Most of the activity in Lamar is 15th thru thanksgiving. Then mid December and I always see better bucks from then thru first 2 weeks of January.

Saw some chasing late this afternoon. The bigger bucks were not here but there was a nice young 7pointer running the does all over the place.
Southeast Stephens county.

Always takes place 3nd. weekend of bow season in north Texas.

I hunt the Southwest corner of Harrison County so the most we are apart is about 70 miles by line of site. I plan on being back in the tree in the morning and see if anything is chasing. We usually are a few weeks away, but 2020 has been a strange year.

My wife killed a nice 6 pt this morning that was chasing a doe with 2 other bucks. She saw a total of 7 bucks this morning. We were in Red River Co.

NE Kaufman County usually heavy week of Thanksgiving.
No acorns this year and corn is magic.
