Tim /John/ James drove from North DFW to Sublette KS approx. 7hr Drive - Steve (aka Me ) flew from DFW to Garden City KS and was picked up by Kyle Simmons (owner of Pheasant's Galore) 1hr 8min flight then approx a 25min drive to Sublette KS.

The Owner & Guides & Cook are some of the nicest people you will ever meet!!!!

Flying in to KS : all i can say its Flat

Arrived at our House that we stayed at as part of the Pheasant Galore service. sleeps 19 people - Very clean - and comes with meals - the cook Donna (aka Gastric Terrorist) should get a Michelin Star for Home cooking .

A few of the Pheasants Mounts in the house we were staying at . I am having a mount done by the same Taxi that did these, pretty good price $250 but will take a year to get. hopefully will be able to pick it up on our 2021 Pheasant hunt!

And the morning hunt begins . Steve & James were the first time pheasant hunters in the group . All i can say it was everything i hoped it would be . Great People to hunt with and lots of birds to shoot at. I think we collected 27 birds on the morning hunt!!

this is our afternoon hunt . we shot approx . 23 birds for the afternoon. brought 48 birds home split between 4 of us and ate the rest for lunch( it was great)

That is a lot of shooting in a day! Sounds like fun.

I've hunted pheasant and quail in Kansas most of my life, but I haven't hunted a Controlled Shooting Area. We used to hunt in a field across from one though, hoping some of their birds might venture over, ha! They can't "high fence" them.

Did you guys have to buy regular non-resident licenses or could you use a CSA permit? I never was clear on the rules for that.
