Good luck and cover your rear end, out of curiosity have you done done a project like this before? No offense intended but it seems your going in way undergunned for the magnitude of the project.

The scraper i can’t go bigger but i. An get another one. It is the biggest John Deere makes and I am using 3 scrapers. The dozer could definitely go bigger.

You don't need a bigger dozer. If anything, maybe an 850K. Running automation is what you actually need. That would drastically reduce your cost per yard.

For a 30 acre lake? Do you have a clue how much dirt that requires being moved lol

Following. I just want another well and one tank on the south end of my place. Gotta spot all picked out that should be a natural catchment. But I wouldn't have a clue how to properly do it, even if I had access to any equipment needed. I have to sort through the 15 (or more) guys that advertise in the Junction/Menard area and find one that actually knows what they're doing. cool

About 485,000 yards for just the 30 acre lake. This project is going to take a long time I have no doubt. The lakes are secondary right now. The primary goal is getting phase II of the resort opened on the river and get all roads in. The equipment i have will work fine for that. Too speed up the lake project it would be nice to have 2 or 3 more scraper set ups and 2 dozers. But we have nothing but time. Thanks for the input

Depends on depth and existing elevations. Dozer isn't there to push a tremendous amount of dirt, but to rip for the scrapers. You can do that with a D4 or a 450. The scraper should only be taking an inch or so on each pass, and any dozer can rip that deep. I know just a little about dirt work.

That will work but I would be real nervous turning them loose with million plus tractor set up.

Thanks, it is going to take a while for sure. We where getting ready to build a 100’ x 50’ pole barn and that has already changed to a 100’ x 100’ with the outside walls being made out of 4 of the 40’ connex boxes and 2 of the 20’ with lean to over hange of 22’ with the gable roof and a concrete floor which will be nice for maintenance of the equipment.
