This entire thing has turned into a big CF and the state of opening, unfortunately, depends on the political persuasion of the elected bodies. The end result is a bunch of noise that no one can decipher, so we simply ignore.

After beginning the semester online, after 4 weeks our district moved back to on-campus, but allowed those who preferred to stay online. Of 25,000 students, (as of today) there are 68 active cases and 73 recovered - according to my math that is about 1/2 of 1% of students infected since going back on-campus a month ago. Also, it seems that the students infected are coming out in pockets - a group of girls passing around a megaphone at a football game is one, several members of one of the sports teams after traveling on a bus to a game, etc.

When all of this is over, it would be fascinating to learn the real numbers of infections by population, morbidity, clusters, etc., but unfortunately, we'll probably never get the real facts.

Glad I live in the country. Open it back up.

we started virtual. so far so good.

Virtual at the elementary level is a failure. Kids don’t have the independent work study ability yet

i'm a teacher and cannot STAND the virtual learning...it is an absolute nightmare for students, schools, and teachers. Lots of schools around us (we are pretty rural) are totally doing away with online instruction and telling kids to either come to school or withdraw and enroll somewhere else
