What I miss here? So I go into Academy and they are wiped out on the shelves of every ammo caliber except a few boxes of shotgun shells. The election bringing on horror or what?
I called Wally World and a mom and pop store and nothing either. Is this all across Texas??

I ordered a few hundred rounds online, the other day. It’s at the house waiting for me. I spent no more time looking for it than I normally would have.
The key to survival is choosing effective rounds that are popular enough to survive, but not popular enough for everyone and their dog to have one.

Shortage is generally all across the country, online is your best option now days it seems and when you find it order it or back order if the site lets you.
Month after month of record gun sales and Hording, Ammo and reloading supplies have become the new Toilet paper in the shortage category.

The usual. Leftists riot, citizens get spooked then buy and hoard ammo.
Nothing new.

I have been searching while I have been in the hospital with this covid. Found some of what I was looking for at Academy and had my wife pick up a couple of boxes. Haven't seen this ammunition in several months so I was happy.

Yep, nationwide. Not really a shortage, just hard to keep up the supply chain. Stores now limit so they can serve customers. Lots of ammo in the used market, some in the small shops that are gun shops, big box stores seem short because so many go there to get it. One can sign up for supply notifications, but when the whole Country gets the notice, you best be reading it when it comes out. Trading is helping some seekers. Keep helping each other find and get it, as we must be together on this.

I hate the ammo flippers. I am all for capitalism but these guys are scum. I recently sold some primers to 2 reloaders on the forum in need, at basically a few dollars over cost. We should be looking out for each other.
I thought reloading was the answer to ammo shortages, but now its damn near almost impossible to get primers and bullets. Powder is also in short supply, but last year I bought several pounds of the pistol and rifle powders I use most frequently. I think I will run out of primers first, bullets second, brass next, and powder last. My wife suddenly thinks 1,000 rounds for the 3 most common calibers we shoot is no longer enough.

Word on the street, is that They recognize that and started splitting their stock so evening customers get a chance. But this only helps on those three truck days, and if they get a truck.

There is zero temptation for me to sell any ammo, because I can't get more at a decent price.
All gun owners have been able to slowly but surely invest in lead and brass over the last few years. "Shoot one then buy two or three" is amazingly effective over time, to avoid paying excessive prices when the inevitable panics hit.
Right now, I am focusing on stocking up more food and general supplies.
