Old 870s are great, wing masters especially, newer ones suck, I have recommended them and had several friends be like WTH, no confidence anymore

I only own 870's. Ive got 3 wingmasters in 20,16, and 12. I rarely take them out because they are so nice. I typically take a 20 that is 4 or 5 years old and I've had great luck with it.

Maybe Ruger/Remington will fix the design issue in the future, glad you are okay... I believe Ruger only bought the 336 line of guns...........

Maybe Ruger/Remington will fix the design issue in the future, glad you are okay... I believe Ruger only bought the 336 line of guns........... It's my understanding Ruger purchased the Marlin name and everything currently being used in the sales and production anything with the Marlin name on it.

No one in today's world should have to rely upon tape to keep a firearm functioning. I've seen quite a few firearm hacks through the years, from guys who would tape over the end of their barrels to ensure the bore stays dry in rainy weather, to a piece of a broom handle for a magazine plug. Sometimes a guy will get so attached to a firearm he'll do some crazy things just to keep it working. Saw a discussion once where a guy challenged anyone taping over the end of a barrel, saying it would somehow impact the bullet and make the gun explode. I guess he had no idea the expanding gases would easily blow a hole in the tape, if not remove it entirely, well ahead of the bullet.
