Looking to buy some 117 grain factory ammunition for deer hunting and can’t decide between federal vital shock with Sierra gamekings or the Hornady Superformance which would you recommend?

Gamekings shoot well in most barrels. Mine shot the 117 Hornady as well, I just find that Sierras seem to shoot well in a variety of guns.

I like Sierra game kings. Good bullet
I would also recommend the hornady American whitetail line ( formerly the custom line ) with the 117 grain interlock.
Imo that’s one of the best loads available
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

What about the 115 grain partitions? Nosler loads the 100gr in their line if ammo and I had great luck with them

SGK’s do well in my 25-06’s, I haven’t shot the SST‘s so I don't have any personal experience with them in 25-06. I would say buy a box of each and have a “shoot out “ to see which one shoots the best. You can’t go wrong with either brand.

I will also say the Sierra Game kings but do not discount the Federal Fusion either. I have a 25-06 AI and that is what I used while fire forming. Deadly and accurate stuff
