How do I ship a fallow hide to a tanning facility?? Freeze it and dry ice??? Or??? Help would be appreciated. Btw sending it to North Texas Tannery in Denton.

Freeze it OR salt and dry it, never both.

Why not just call the Tannery and ask them, seems they would know best.

Texas Tannery is impossible to get on the phone. That said they do great work. I froze mine, packed in a cooler with additional ice and shipped ground and it got there next day.

You are spot on and that is why I asked. I did get a return email stating to freeze and ship overnight which we did. They did an axis hide for me and it was really great work.

up They did my sons first whitetail and a BB of mine. Will be sending them an axis next year.

Go to NTT website. They ask specifically to NOT salt the hide. Just freeze and pack and send with your carrier.
