Been there done that! Ever heard of getting catfished? I learned what that meant. Was working offshore GOM 3 weeks at a time & started messing around with dating sites. Met this (appeared to be) pretty/sexy Senorita and started talking and exchanging pictures daily. Conversations got more & more "personal" if you know what I mean. Decided what the heck, do something crazy and live on the wild side. Hadn't even met her yet, but thought I knew her well enough. I bought a pair of non-refundable plane tickets, reserved us a nice hotel room for 2 nights, and bought two concert tickets for a show in California. Choppered in to the beach, drove 9 hrs home from SE Louisiana, cleaned up and drove an hour the next day to pick her up for our first date before the big trip to Cali. Pulled up in front of her apartment and here she comes. I kept rubbing my eyes in disbelief, and as she approached my truck I seriously thought about dropping that shifter in D and standing on that pedal. She looked NOTHING like all of the pictures she had been sending me, not even close. This girl was BIG and had a freakin' unibrow, I chit you not! I didn't want to hurt her feelings so I went ahead and took her out to eat but as soon as I dropped her off I blocked all communication with her. Talk about FALSE advertising. I ended up going on that trip by myself, and her $800 non refundable plane ticket went in the trash. Lesson learned.....
