I’d like to have few knives made and I’m looking for recommendations on a builder. I’m not wanting cookie cutter blanks built but someone that can truly build a custom knife. Who would you recommend? I’m really looking for a great set of kitchen knives if that makes a difference

I only have bought Lambkin (chops knives) but my next will be Bjankowski. Nothing against chops.

MikeC makes a fine knife for a reasonable price.

I have a Jank and like it. MikeC seems like a good option, too. There are some other great ones on THF as well that should be considered. There are some on THF I won't knowingly pay money to, however, but I forget their names intentionally.

The only one I have utilized is a Jank. Wifeypoo made me buy it. Evidently, she's a pretty smart gal.

The right way to do it is roof first with step flashing, then brick, where flashing is behind brick. They probably bricked first, then roofed it. What you got is next best thing, normally that method is used on re-roof, have it done like that on my house. You should be fine.

I was actually thinking siding not brick, this is they way to do it. The step they skipped is not sawing that line to get the counter flashing into the brick. They probably just sealed it.

I have two of his custom knives before he got famous. Could never afford one now.

I have knives from Mike C and Jank and both are great. Mike has made a few sets of kitchen knives for people I know and they love them.
