Every supplement is different. If it is cheaper, sav the difference for copays/deductibles/coinsurances.

Stay the H*LL away from AARP.

Welmed sucks.

Stay the H*LL away from Medicare Replacement plans.

Not true. All supplements are the same. Only thing different is carrier name and price.

Buzz. Aetna has the cheapest rate in the market. I could save you 20$ plus a month if you moved to them.....

Replacement plans (MA) are out selling Med Supps in the market 6:1. I have 25k plus Medicare plans on the books. I am about 50/50 on product type. Different folks have different needs.

Did you have to go through underwriting? With everything you have going on medically I would think that would be like trying to insure a wrecked car before going to the body shop. grin

The reason I ask is that I just started Medicare this month, 10/01 with Aetna Plan G. Somehow I was under the impression that from here on I would have to go through underwriting for any changes.

One time a year there is a open enrollment period that you are allowed to change plans within the company you have to a plan that covers more or to another company for any plan without underwriting. Once this period closes you are subjected to underwriting.

Joker is 100% correct. If you are dealing with Medicare supplement plans A through J they are all the same except the carrier and price. The Medicare Advantage plans there is differences.

Yes, I pay $134 for Medicare out of my SS check. I have a supplement $160 a month, was $178. I never have to pay anything and I've had a TON of medical crap this year. Expensive surgeries, injections, etc, only had to pay a few dollars, everything else is covered

My Meds come from SilverScript CVS Caremark mail order, all are "free"

So I have two cards I show at the doctor
1. Medicare
2. BCBS of Texas (switching to United Healthcare)

That is true unless you change in the next 6 months.

I'd lay money down by your expensive surgery and injections, that UHC will rate you up. They will quote one thing, under review, they will increase the premium. There are very very few situations that I will ever write UHC Med Supp for this reason.

True on SS. Tier 1 and some 2 are free. 3-5 all have co-pays. That plan will have the most enrollments this AEP. They have the cheapest plan in the space. Sub 8$

I am almost 75 yo and since 65, I have not paid a penny out of pocket other that meds, example I paid 17$ for 2 meds today at Wally World. I have had several surgeries with the major one, a QUAD BYPASS in July, not penny cost to me.
