I have used the regular fix blade Slick tricks for years and have always served me well. Has anyone used the Raptortricks? Curious to see if any better than the fixed due to large cutting diameter.

Well, you asked.
Shot 2 animals with them and will gladly give you the 3rd broadhead if you want it. Will never shoot those again.

Care to elaborate? Might help someone else that has seen these and were interested in them.

Shot a 9pt at point blank range, 6 yards. He was quartered away, just perfect. Should had been a heart shot. I hit the top of a rib and that’s as far as it went.
I tried again on a hog that I slipped up on. Had hog broadside at maybe 10 yards. Perfect heart shot. Hog ran in a 20ft half circle and dropped dead. She was about 100lbs. No pass thru and entry hole looked like a 22 bullet hole which told me the blades did not open on impact. Even with a heart shot, no blood whatsoever.
Two heads, poor results, no need to try the 3rd.
Been playing with some other mechanicals, shot a swhacker on a 110lb hog, lung shot, no pass thru, hog ran about 40 yards and piled up. Blood trail was ok, but not impressive. Entry was no where a 2 inch cut. Not really impressed.
Shot a 150+ boar hog with Nap Spitfire. 20 yard heart shot. Blood trail was almost immediate and a lot of it. Ran about 30 yards and had a good 2 inch cut at entry. No pass thru but got very good penetration for that size of pig.
Hope to try out some others later on.
I also tried out a G5 fixed head. Shot 2 hogs, recovered none. First one, hardly any blood trail. Second one had decent blood trail, but ended up running in some thick stuff where I was crawling on my hands and knees. Probably would have found it but with no where to run or climb, I said nah, ain’t gonna do it cause there was about 10 more that ran with it and they were all pretty good sized.

I've used 125 grain slick tricks for years also. They've never done me wrong. I've used them in Alaska, Africa, and all over the US. But I haven't tried the expandable raptortricks and sounds like I won't!

I have a 4 blade slick trick that I have yet to try. Could have shot a pig on the last hunt I went on, but it was only a 30 lb’er. Really want something in the 100+lb range.

Thanks for the updated info. That is why I am hesitant to try expandables.

Those slick tricks are hard to beat. I have had an original for several years now and have put that same broadheads through at least a dozen animals. Bobcat, coyote, two deer and I can’t count how many pigs, and other than tips of two blades barely being chipped, it is still fine. Shot two pigs couple weeks ago and blades are finally showing a little ripples in blades, but still sharp! Have sharpened it a few times over the years but keeps a great edge. This one head has sold me, and they fly so true and hit where field points do

Finally got to try that head out back during deer season. Shot a hog. Made a heart shot and oh my gawd, what a blood trail, for what little it ran. Very impressed!!!
