My truck just turned 7 years old. Tires are fine. Be careful, Bill. No kidding. Tires wear out from dry rot. May look fine until you get on the hwy at 70 in 95 degree weather. Keep both hands on the wheel. 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

The sun ruins most trailer tires while it's parked. Keep it inside or cover the tires and they would probably last forever. Spray them with Armor All, Cover them etc. After 5 yrs you are asking for trouble regardless, trust me. I have had my hands on a lot of them.

I rolled my previous pickup truck because I didn't know.
The police report showed 75% tread depth all the way around. Visually, they looked great, but the tread had gradually turned very, very hard - offering almost no traction. It was an old truck that I only used for my 3 mile daily commute to my shop, so the tires looked perfectly good at about 7-8 years old. No cracking/checking or flat spots.
Driving through a construction area at 45-50 MPH in a drizzling rain and it felt like I was driving on a layer of ice. The other cars around me were not have any problems at all, but I slid off into a ditch, rolled over and landed upright. Two witnesses said that it looked like I had hydroplaned in non-existent deep water.
Lesson learned.
A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

I believe the tires get "ate up" or deteriorate from the inside out

I think all of today’s tires are junk.. I have numerous trucks and trailers and I can’t seem to get a tire past year 3 anymore. The last set made it 2 years and I lost 5 of 8 on a little 30 mile trip. The trailer might of had 2500 miles on it. My truck tires are 12 ply 22” Nitto Trail Graplers and I’ve had 4 either brake a bead or have a knot pop up in the middle of the tire with less than 2000 miles and less than a year old. These are $500 a piece tires no less which sucks. I’ve always bought name brand so called quality tires but I think the cheap tires will last just as long now days.. Everything’s junk now, ticks me off

What if you’re not pulling the trailer? Let’s say....an illegal Russian is towing it. That okay? Nyet Komrad!

I put new tires 2 times on my current 2003 Dodge 2500 because they were 7 years old. They still had good treads, but the sidewalls had lots of spider cracks and that concerned me.

People will tend to think tight, be tight and not spend $ only to put themselves in a pickle. Spendthrifts can end up costing themselves more on the long run.
Plain & simple, I would have a hard time with any SIL who would have 7 year old tires on any vehicle or trailer hauling around my spawn or the grandsons.

I can't remember the last time I replaced a set of tires on one of my trucks because the tread was worn down. I have a take home car for work so I don't drive my truck daily. I average about 7,000-9,000 miles a year on my trucks. Probably the last three sets of tires I've replaced (other than replacing the ones they came with) have been because of age and cracking with plenty of tread left. Once they get to that point I just can't bring myself to take off on a trip with them.

Most things that touch the ground are important - shoes, foundations & tires to name just a few.
