We have never used either of these methods for paying for purchases or getting money from bank. Anyone else ?

I did years ago. I haven’t used an ATM/debit card in about 15-20 years. I’ve heard too many stories about ATM cards being hacked. And I don’t want to pay a fee to get my own money

I use my debit card often but never carry any cash.

Credit card is so much safer.

I have had one for almost 30 years....Use it, but usually use my Discover card and just pay that off at the end of the month.

You shouldn’t have to pay a fee. I agree. You don’t have any of the big banks in Concho county?

We have a houshold account with a debit card. That account never had alot of funds. Wife transfer enough to cover purchases as needed. We use it often.

Wife and I separate credit cards and checking. We each use our credit cards like debit cards. I transfer funds from checking to credit account once a month. She transfers twice a month. Never carry a balance. Never had a problem.

For cash, debit card at BANK. Never ever any place else, EVER!

Only time I use a debit card is to get cash at my bank around the corner.

Debit card. The only way to fly, but I also carry some cash.

Never got into Debit cards or using them to get cash. Seems like a pain in the arse

We switched to a credit card for all purchases a number of years ago although we keep debit cards to obtain cash. We use cash as much as we can.

Use my debit card for everything except online purchases. In 20 years I’ve never had it jeopardized. However those damn CC cards get hit almost yearly.

Wells Fargo told me that our debit cards are protected against fraud just like our credit card. Same process to deny fraudulent charges.

I only use my credit card for autopay. It's generally under $500 but a little higher when I pay my truck insurance. I use my debit card for everything else except times when I pay the man. I hold out enough cash from my RMD each year for that. I keep it buried in a coffee can in my back yard.

Ok..... The reason we do not use either is it is just easier to keep up with one card that we use all of the time. That card being Discover. Discover is really good with alerts on you card. It gives you money back and you have to pay it off every month. We rarely write a check for anything except a large purchase that will not take a CC. Never have liked ATM machines (just don`t). I also hardly ever carry cash either. I guess I`m just a simple man.

The issue is not that your bank won’t return the funds, it’s that you are out those funds (cash) while they fix the issue, which takes days. If your credit card number gets stolen, you’re not out any cash and they can get you a new credit card in a day or two, or you use your debit card in the meantime, or you can use a different credit card if you have one.

The process is the same, but your bank account can be wiped out if your debit card is stolen and you might be screwed for a few days.

We use debit cards at ATMs rarely and only at banks (not convenience stores or on the street). We use credit cards for everything else.

Only time I use mine is to get cash/deposit check from local ATM, which is not very often.
