With all the kids now long since grown and on their own, our family follows the common practice of drawing names for Christmas presents. It was my oldest daughter who ran across an app and website called Drawnames.com that we'll be using for the second Christmas is a row. It's very simple to use (and free) and makes it easy to know what a family wants for Christmas. Family members can select gifts from a wide range of categories or just enter a gift themselves. We decided that everyone will keep the name of who they drew to themselves until gifts are opened on Christmas Day or whenever it works out that we can all be together. Of course you'll need to decide this ahead of time so that family members don't share it through day-to-day contact.

We used it for several years. All the adults finally decided to just concentrate on the kids and grandkids from now on so we don't draw names any longer. It was fun while it lasted.

In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years.

Not enough family on speaking terms to worry about drawing names.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Only Cathy and I exchange gifts anymore. She finally fingered out that I didn't need anymore house shoes. She now sends me Omaha steaks and we enjoy eating then together over the Christmas holidays.
